A Trip to the Lake and an Astro's Game

On labor day weekend, I went to lake summerville with cody and his parents. It was so much fun that it was hard to leave on Sunday.
by the looks of this hot dog you are probably wondering what the heck is on it.. I thought the same thing at first. This is a slaw dog. It's from south carolina (which is where cody's family is from) and its a regular hot dog with coleslaw on top of it! It dosn't look appetizing but I assure you it is so good!!
On Saturday Cody, me, my brother Travis, and Sister-in-law Jennifer, went to the Astros game and had a lot of fun! I love spending time with my family, its so precious and I wouldn't trade it for the world! It also helps that we won! :)

Who knew that it took this many people to spray the field?!?

The Story of the Lost Cooler

On September 1st as many should know, it was opening day for dove hunting. This was my first time to ever go dove hunting and so it was a momentous day. It was a very early start to the day as my dad and me packed the car, stopped by the donut place, and headed out to Victor's land. Once we got there we met up with Victor, my brother Travis, Cameron, and my dad's banker. It was an AWESOME morning! Spending the time with my dad and brother was very special and I ended shooting 10 dove, which was really exciting with it being my first time. My dad ended up getting 15, and Travis got a lot. So we plucked, cleaned, bagged them and put them in a nice blue cooler. After the morning, my dad had to go to work so I hung out with Travis all day and eventually Cody got out of school, got his hunting license and met up with us at Travis's house. We were getting ready for round 2 of hunting. Well, my dad had taken the 20 gauge that I was using (its my favorite gun) home. So Cody and me were on our way to get the gun, when Travis said "why not put the dove in mom's freezer" It made sense because we were going over there. So I put the cooler in the back of the truck, get inside Cody's truck and we head off. I get to my mom's house and go to get the cooler. As I look in the back of the truck I notice there is no cooler. I look at Cody and he says "why is the tailgate down?"... Oh yes, you are reading right..there was no cooler! The nice blue cooler full of dove was GONE! So I start freaking out. We grab the gun and go, Cody stays calm and tries to retrace our steps as I sit crying and yelling. Well, we retrace everyone inch the truck drove and we did not find the cooler. As I sat crying, some random person just hit jacpot with a nice blue cooler full of dove meat, and a few random bottles of water. So, in order to recover my loss, my brother Travis, Cody, and me end up going hunting. It was a fun time with my boyfriend and brother and by the end of the second hunting trip we have 15 more dove. despite the cooler incident, it ended up being a really great and special day for me. Hopefully in time this story will become a funny one we tell when we go dove hunting again and again.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Put your tailgate up!!!

The Cabin Trip in the Middle of Nowhere

This past weekend we took a trip with our church sunday school group to the middle of nowhere. It was between Leaky and Utopia, Texas and was absolutly amazing. It was on a ranch that was 2600 acres full of adventures to be made. We did a little hunting, just shooting the gun, breathing fresh air, and fellowship with some great friends. Thursday, we finally made it to the cabin after 6 hours of driving and getting lost a time or two. Once we made it there, Cody and Jason got right to getting the feeders ready for hunting the next morning. I took the time to enjoy the cabin's front porch and deer that were at the stand until everyone piled into the bed of the truck and drove around the land.
Later in the day, we decided to do a little pig hunting. It was Cody, me, Tanesa, and Darris inside one deer stand that I am sure was made for two people. Not only was it hot and air was feeling thick but we had just got done eating dinner and stomachs were settling. So the air got even thicker if you know what i mean lol. That ended our hunting trip pretty fast.
The next morning, I woke up to Missy yelling "Cody got a pig!" and my first thought was my baby brought home the bacon!.. literally.. so Cody ended up being the only one who caught something. Needless to say I was pretty proud! After enjoying the day and shooting some guns it was pretty much the end of our trip we woke up the next day, packed and headed home..
well, it was almost the end of our trip.. 7 miles outside of the ranch Missy's tire blew on her truck.. i don't mean that lightly.. It actually blew up..

We eventually made it back home about 5 hours later and while everyone crashed in their beds, me and Cody were sill going strong because Tiffany had her graduation party that night.. It was a fun pool party where I bobbed up and down laying on a beach ball in the water and chatted with some friends while Cody thew kids for 3 hours.. after the party for Tiff I crashed..

A Month Can Really Fly By

Wow, I have not blogged in quite some time! This month has been a busy one so far! I can't possibly blog about all that I have done, but i'll hit the highlights that have pictures because its much more fun that way.
Well on August 2, I turned 23. It was a very fun weekend of shooting skeet with my brothers and my dad, having a family dinner, and eating out with my parents and cody then going to a movie. I don't really know what to feel about turning 23. Its an odd age where I feel sorta old but I know i'm young. Here are some pictures of the weekend..
Cody and me then went to College Station one night for his last hoorah before moving closer to me in Katy! :) It was an awesome night with some really great friends that we both love dearly.
Just last week, I caught cody on camera playing with KK (My niece). It was so precious! He adores those 4 girls and he is so great with them!!

Finally, the most recent event was another trip to good ole College Station for Tiffany's graduation! I was so proud of her! We can now both lean on each other as we once again start a new new chapter in our life. Tiffany has been one of my best friends since the 9th grade, so that means going on 8 years. They have been full of tears, laughter, joy, pain, and everything in between. We have stuck it out through it all and I look forward to see what the future has in store!

Trip to Weatherford

This past week Cody and I took a trip to Weatherford, Texas for a wedding that Cody was in. We left wednesday and came back sunday. It was a pretty laid back trip besides being busy with the wedding stuff, but everything was fun! In case you don't know this is where Weatherford is..Its a small town outside of Fort Worth, it was absolutly beautiful!!! The trip started on wednesday morning and it took about 3 hours to get there, at least I think. It was a really relaxing drive and we were in no hurry so that made it even better.

Wednesday and thursday were pretty low key this is what cody did practically the whole time..
If it wasnt the Wii, it was grand theft auto. As he played, I sat and watched him and helped Sarah out with wedding stuff. On friday, Cody, Warren, and me went to a pond and fooled around before the rehersal dinner that night.

This is the bride and groom at the rehersal dinner..

This is Cody and me at the rehersal dinner.. he looks bald, but he's not..

Saturday was finally the wedding day! It was a busy and fun day. I dont have many pictures, I was enjoying the day too much to concentrate on taking pictures. Plus that is what a photographer is for! This was Cody's first wedding to be a groomsman and he did a great job standing up there :)

At the reception, Cody and I danced our little hearts out! we definatly tore up the floor and my foot (I ended up getting a blister on the bottom of my left foot..random, I know). We left for College Station on sunday despite being reluctant to leave cuz it was so much fun and it was a beautiful place!

Skype

When I moved back to Katy, Cody and me needed a way to talk while we were away from each other. Texting is good but we needed a way to talk and phone calls can get pricey. Well, I remebered when Tiffany went to study abroad we skyped together. So Cody and I began to Skype. Its a free program that you download from http://www.skype.com/ you only need a webcam and a microphone. So we get to see each other and talk to each other for free. It has worked out really good. We have skyped since the day I left and we will until the day he moves here (which will be in a couple of weeks) :) Well, over the days I have caught some pretty funny pictures, but for cody's sake I won't put them up. I will instead be a good girlfirend and put a couple of good ones...
ok.. maybe one funny one..
If you notice he has stuck a bottle lid to his forhead and forgot to take it off..lol.. he is a random guy, but it keeps me on my toes :)

Beach House Trip

Every 4th of July my family takes a family vacation to our beach house that is on Crystal Beach. Well it was that time again.. I was there a whole week of fishing, taking pictures, 4th of July stuff, playing games, enjoying the beach, and just relaxing. On Sat. Cody showed up and stayed until Wed. On one of the days we went fishing with my brother Nathan and his wife Melissa. It was so much fun! and we ended up catching a lot of croker, redfish, and the only flounder that Cody caught.

Then on another day Melissa took some pictures of us. She is a photographer who is VERY talented! here is her website, you need to check it out! http://snappedwithlove.com/ you can go to her website or click on the blog. Either way she did a great job, and I love her work!! :) these are only a couple out of many more that she took that day.. check out her blog for more..

The trip was amazing and I wish it didn't have to end..
